Eric Balstad, Certified Kitchen Designer, Shop Manager Eric Balstad – Certified Kitchen Designer, Shop Manager Eric received his B.A. in Drawing and Printmaking from the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.  After college, Eric became a freelance cabinetmaker, using his design skills for a builder.  In 1970 he became a Master Cabinetmaker, after interviewing with R.C., our Founder. Today he is our kitchen and bath design specialist (CKD). He raised two sons all the way to Eagle Scout (now in college), and spent 15 years as an active Scout leader.

Annette Parrish, Vice President Annette Parrish – Vice President  Annette, one of those rarest of species, a Colorado native, went east to Nebraska to earn her degree in Office Administration.  She worked 12 years as a medical office administrator before beginning a career as a Fine Artist.  A self-taught landscape painter who now explores the medium of glass, she ran her own studio for five years before joining the Parrish team.  She is involved in the  community and various charities, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).  Back to Top
Larry Parrish, President Larry Parrish – President, CR, CGR, CAPS, GACP Larry received his degree in electrical engineering at The University of Colorado at Boulder, and spent several years at Rockwell as a Senior Electrical Engineer. However, throughout high school and college he worked as a carpenter for his dad, R.C, our founder. In 1979 he had an opportunity to return to Parrish, working up to project manager, and then in 1988 bought the firm when R.C retired.  Outside interests include travel, photography, and scuba diving (often combined). Larry is the company’s foremost ‘whimsicalist’ and keeps things top notch, but lubricated with good humor, which any good engineer knows – eases friction. He has earned a number of industry certifications and has been active in two local Boulder Valley Rotary International Clubs since 1990.    Back to Top
R.C. Parrish, Founder R.C. Parrish – Founder A Texas drought in 1952 brought RC, our founder, up to Boulder County.  After three crop failures, he figured a change was in order and his uncle told him to come use his cabinetry and building skills at the Rocky Flats plant.  Both of his grandfathers and some of his great uncles had taught him cabinetry work and he calls it his “first love”. R.C. moved over to the University cabinet shop as soon as he could, and then in 1969 began PAR builders as his own cabinet shop.  However, a very pleased Boulder client who was an ophthalmologist insisted he start offering building services, too—and a symbiotic relationship started: exceptional work brought lots of referrals via word of mouth.  Despite being retired since 1988, R.C. keeps up his involvement with Rotary International, which he “really believes in”.  Back to Top
Yvonne Roeder, Business Manager Yvonne Roeder – Business Manager Yvonne graduated cum laude with a BS degree in Business Management/Finance from Regis University.  She also graduated Phi Theta Kappa with an AAS degree in Accounting from Front Range Community College.  She has been working in the finance industry for 30 years.  She is a mother of three and grandmother of seven.  When she is not working, you can usually find her on the golf course enjoying a round of golf.  Back to Top
Stacy Smith, Lead Cabinetmaker Stacy Smith – Lead CabinetmakerStacy Smith studied college-level cabinetmaking for two years in Vermont, then apprenticed for six years. He has now been with us for 16 years and recalls how he had his job at Parrish before he had a place to live in Boulder. Interviewed on Friday after arriving in town, started at six a.m. on Monday, and spent the weekend in-between camping while apartment hunting! He recently built his own home in the foothills, where he ice skates on his own homemade rink. You can take the boy out of Vermont….  Back to Top
Tom Van Bourgondien, Lead Carpenter Tom Van Bourgondien – Lead Carpenter “Tom V”, as he’s known, loves working with his hands and has done so for 25 years in New York, Hawaii and Colorado. He loves the tangibility of seeing what you have made arise out of nothing, and the satisfaction derived from doing it well.  He’s a self-admitted computer geek/film dilettante and bookworm of major proportions.  Back to Top
