Kitchen remodel

Attention to the style of this 1914 four-square and integration of the kitchen into the existing structure make this a very warm and inviting room.

The kitchen was completely remodeled with new appliances, new countertops, and cabinets. The cabinets were custom made in our cabinetry shop using maple and cherry woods in the craftsman style. The door panels were manmade with a Brookline butternut pattern wood product. The pulls were made using ebonex, a specially treated walnut product. Cabinets closest to the basement door were curved to allow for easy movement while not compromising needed storage space.

All the shelving is completely adjustable to suit the client's changing needs. Over the kitchen desk, the cubbyholes are also adjustable to accommodate knickknacks, mail, cookbooks, as well as serve as a wine shelf.

Here are some before views of the kitchen.

In this after photo, notice that both the sink and cooktop are inlayed into the Verde Fontaine
granite counter. At the right you can see part of one of the curved cabinets. The floor is green
slate
.

Looking toward the other side of the kitchen is an office area for paying bills, working on the
menu, and taking phone messages. Notice the adjustable cubby holes and shelves. The two
lower drawers contain four recycling tubs. And the drawer over the radiator is slatted so that
wet mittens and hats can dry out.

This project is one of several the home owner commissioned from Parrish Construction Co. The other projects included a totally reclaimed attic, a remodeled bathroom, and numerous free-standing cabinets and furniture made in our cabinet shop.
